These are a series of photos taken from about 80 miles east of Yosemite National Park, flying west at 34000 feet. The photos are 80 miles out, 40 miles out, 20 miles out with Mono Lake, directly over the Sierras, and a photo of Yosemite Valley. I would have flown this leg for free. Be Safe, FlyGuy
Fantastic photos! When I was a passenger on a similar flight, I didn't have a window seat and the fellow next to me at the window pulled the shutter down and slept from taxiing to landing! So frustrating!

I've always loved our route from Phoenix to Las Vegas, but that looks much more impressive...I love the snow caps!
ReplyDeleteAwesome visibility! I was a pax on a flight from KDEN to KSFO, and saw mostly haze and clouds, but it was still pretty cool. I've always wanted to get the pilot's perspective from FL340, especially with these weather conditions

I've made the flight as well as the drive too. The drive was on that road next to crater lake. The view is actually more stunning from about 20 miles out the ground looking up toward the mountians.
ReplyDeleteThe road goes to Hawthorne, NV (bomb city). Even from 14,000 ft up it looks like a postage stamp. No really, a postage stamp at one square mile. It is right in the midle of about a thousand bomb bunkers. This is the armys ammunitions plant.
